Fall Creek Falls State Park offers special live music every Saturday night at the Village Green area in the State Park. For a small donation of $3.00 per adult (children age 6 and under are free.) you will be able to sit under the stars in an outdoor amphitheater and enjoy live bands for up to two hours. Great local groups and Nashville groups are represented. These groups start playing on the first Saturday night of June. Wild Flower Hikes, Spring Rock Climbing Workshops, Astronomy Week-ends, Star Parties, Basket Weaving Workshops, Backpacking Trips, Triathlon, Fall Rock Climbing Workshops, 15 km Run & Weekend, Fourth of July Celebration and Christmas On the Mountain. A full time Naturalist is on staff at the Nature Center to answer your questions about dates and times for these events. Every Year on the second week-end in September beginning on Friday night and going through Sunday morning 12:00 Noon is the Mountaineer Folk Festival at Fall Creek Falls State Park Village Green area. This year is the 31st year for this great event. 100-plus craft vendors will be selling their beautiful hand-made wares. All are juried crafts, no junk. Great old-time ballads and Bluegrass Mountain Music starts on Saturday morning and goes through late Saturday night with Gospel music on Sunday. Local Food Vendors from the local churches and Fire Departments furnish food on-site so their is no reason to leave for food; so good food by local folks. Stages set up for music and story-telling about the mountain days of long ago. Last but not least, demonstrations go on all day. Want to see Sorghum Molasses made the old fashion way, or Lye soap, hog-calling and cross-cut saw demonstration plus much more. No admission charge just donations asked for. The beautiful month of October is just around the corner with the October Festival in downtown Pikeville and the spectacular leaf color at Fall Creek Falls State Park. Every year the Leaf Peepers come from surrounding states to witness the beautiful Fall leaf colors in our area. Every Saturday night in the Village Green area at the FCF State Park special outdoor music starts at 7:30 P.M. For $3.00 a person you can experience some great picking and grinning. Both the towns of Spencer and Pikeville offer various Festivals, Special Music Events, Rod-Runs and small town fun events.
