Fall Creek Falls State Park, situated on the western edge of the Cumberland Plateau, contains over 19,000 acres of rugged beauty. Within the park are both first class recreational facilities and untraversed, pristine nature. Two naturalists are on duty year round at Fall Creek Falls to provide orientation slide shows of the park, nature rambles, cave trips, and tours of the park.
Fifty miles of trails, including 25 miles of backpacking trails and 20 miles of biking trails, lead the visitor away from the roads and into the heart of the wilderness at Fall Creek.
Penny's General Store, located off Hyw. 284 at the North Entrance to Fall Creek Falls State Park, is a great place to shop. "Even if you just take a look inside the store, and outside as well, you will feel like you are walking down memory lane with the antiques inside and old restored vehicles outside." You will see Grandma's quilt, Pa's lantern, Aunt Betsy's washboard, Uncle Bob's hoe. So stop in and visit Penney or call ahead for store hours at 423-881-5362.
